Teaching at AIS

Working at Aichi International School is a rewarding experience for suitably qualified teachers who have a genuine passion for educating young children.

Applicants must possess a valid teacher’s license or qualification, having completed an early childhood or primary education degree at a minimum: TESOL/TEFL/CELTA etc. qualifications alone are not applicable for any positions at AIS.

Although we have a preference for applicants already residing in Japan with valid working visas, we also consider overseas applicants. However, please note that our school year runs from April through March; therefore, we generally begin recruiting new teachers from October, if needed.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, although we do ask for some flexibility with regards to a few events throughout the year, such as Sports Day, Halloween and the Christmas Concert.

Student teachers wishing to gain workplace experience to go towards their qualification are also welcome to contact us.

Aichi International School acknowledges the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. AIS is committed to ensuring the best practices for child protection that allow all students to feel free from any form of physical or emotional harm in their daily lives, whether while at school or at home. As such, all AIS staff have a contractual obligation and duty to defend the rights of all children in our care in accordance with the ‘Employee’s Ethical Regulations’ and the ‘Behaviors Based on the Employee’s Ethical Regulations.’ Anyone applying for a position at AIS should understand our safeguarding policy, and provide contact details for required reference checks.
