ICT at AIS
At AIS, our mission is to foster children ready and effective for the global environment. Along with traditional “pencil & paper” style learning skills, AIS students develop 21st century digital technology competencies which they can apply in a wide scope of curricular areas and daily life. Our school provides modern Chromebook devices for student to use: for classes in basic computer operations through to programming skills, as well as for various class work, such as project slide shows and learning Math. AIS also has an after-school computer club for all children to enjoy building their computer and programming skills using Scratch, Tynker and other applications.
Our schoolwide ICT plan includes:
A grade-appropriate digital technology curriculum from Orca to G6, which includes transitions, progression, and reinforcement through grades of device skills from basic operations to foundations of programming. Learning Objectives within the AIS Information and Communication Technology Curriculum;
Online safety educationCommon Sense Media digital citizenship lessons. Our teachers have all completed the Common Sense Educator training. Online safety is another important part of our schoolwide safeguarding policy
An ICT Student Committee to promote greater student ownership, responsibility and good use of devices.
