Welcome
AIS warmly welcomes all families considering an education for their child at our unique international school. Located in the Tokai region, AIS offers a distinctive bilingual program in English and Japanese for Grades 1 to 6, alongside a 100% English immersion program for kindergarten children aged 3 to 5 years old. In our elementary program, approximately 70% of the curriculum is taught in English, with the remaining 30% in Japanese.
Our mission is to cultivate “globally-minded individuals” equipped with the knowledge and integrity to succeed responsibly and effectively in an ever-evolving world. As Nagoya City and Aichi Prefecture become more dynamic and cosmopolitan, interest in our school continues to grow.
Since opening in 2006, we have embraced an incredible diversity of students, teachers, and parents from various cultures and backgrounds. Aligned with our mission, we envision not only our students but also our teachers and parents as role models who share and learn from each other. This fosters a greater understanding and appreciation of one’s own culture while nurturing an open-minded approach towards others.
We would love for you and your child to visit our school and experience the learning environment we provide. Please join one of our Open House days or feel free to contact our office at 052-788-2255 to arrange an individual meeting.

Why Choose Aichi International School for Your Child?
At Aichi International School, we believe in providing a well-rounded, globally-focused education that prepares students for a bright and successful future. Here’s why families choose our school:
1. AIS is elgibile for the “free early childhood education and childcare” program.
Aichi International School is certified as an unlicensed childcare facility that meets the standards set by the national and Nagoya city governments, so it is eligible to take advantage of the “free early childhood education and childcare” program.
2. A Truly International Community
Aichi International School boasts a vibrant and diverse student body, offering children the opportunity to interact with peers from all around the world. This rich cultural exposure fosters an environment of tolerance, understanding, and open-mindedness, helping your child develop a broader global perspective.
3. Bilingual Education for the Future
Our unique bilingual education model ensures children are immersed in both English and Japanese from an early age. With our English immersion program in kindergarten and bilingual elementary education, we equip children with the linguistic skills and cultural understanding they need to thrive in a globalized world.
4. Accredited, International Curriculum
Aichi International School is fully accredited by the prestigious Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), ensuring that our educational standards meet the highest global benchmarks. Our international curriculum prepares students for success in higher education and beyond, wherever life takes them.。
5. Rigorous Academics, Creative Thinking
Our academic programs are designed to challenge and inspire. At Aichi International, we emphasize critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, giving children the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive world. Your child will be prepared not only for exams but for real-world challenges.
6. Building Lifelong Global Connections
By attending Aichi International School, students have the opportunity to build friendships and networks with peers, teachers, and families from all over the world. These connections often grow into lifelong relationships that can provide valuable personal and professional opportunities in the future.
7. Developing Adaptability and Independence
International education at Aichi is about more than academics; it’s about personal growth. Children learn to navigate different cultural and educational systems, developing adaptability, resilience, and independence that will serve them well throughout their lives.
8. Empowering Global Citizens
At Aichi International School, we emphasize the importance of global citizenship. Our curriculum encourages students to think critically about international issues, sustainability, and the interconnectedness of the world. We inspire children to become compassionate, socially responsible individuals with a broader worldview.
9. Seamless Transitions for Mobile Families
For families frequently relocating due to work or other commitments, Aichi International School offers the stability of a consistent, internationally recognized curriculum. Our adaptable teaching methods ensure that transitions between different countries and educational systems are smooth and stress-free.
10. A Well-Rounded Education
Education at Aichi goes beyond the classroom. We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and community service. This holistic approach nurtures well-rounded individuals, helping children develop important life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
11. Personalized Learning for Every Child
With smaller class sizes, Aichi International School ensures that each child receives personalized attention from our dedicated teachers. This individualized approach helps us identify and nurture each student’s strengths, ensuring they reach their full potential in a supportive, encouraging environment.
12. Your Bridge Between the International and Japanese Systems
If you’re concerned about transitioning between educational systems, rest assured that Aichi International School follows the latest educational standards in both our kindergarten and elementary programs. For families wishing to stay connected to the Japanese education system, many of our elementary school families remain enrolled in their local public elementary schools. Before starting at AIS, these families coordinate with their local school to ensure their child stays part of the public school system while attending AIS. This arrangement allows students to easily transition back to a Japanese public or private school if needed, ensuring a smooth and seamless educational journey. If you have any questions about this process, feel free to contact us at 052-788-2255 or admin@aisnagoya.net.
Choosing Aichi International School means investing in your child’s future. Join our international community, where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, ready to take on the world with confidence.
Please feel free to contact us regarding application details, selection tests, etc. If you would like to see the school and classes, you can join us on our next open day, or you can visit on your own at a date that suits you.
