A new state-of-the-art building was constructed in 2005, and houses 12 classrooms, a library, a concert hall, open-area learning centers, heated floors, and a courtyard. Directly across from the school is a large treed park (Nijigaoka Koen).

The school building is an original design, which beautifully blends rigorous safety standards with artistic Canadian log-work. The building’s frame and floors are built from natural wood, and an abundance of windows and skylights allow for natural sunlight. The school’s concert hall has a two-storey high cathedral ceiling, balcony, and decorative stained glass.

AIS will launch a long-term plan in 2025 to support the continued development of the school. Improvements will begin in 2025 and continue in the years ahead. Planned upgrades include enhancing the internet infrastructure to enable greater integration of classroom technology, expanding catering options for school events, and renovating the toilets and flooring. Additional long-term improvements are also being considered as part of AIS’s ongoing development efforts, to ensure the school continues to grow and provide high-quality learning experiences.
